Don is back! SRK to return with the third sequel for the 'Don franchise'!

Amitabh Bachchan was the first to bring the character of 'Don' to life, but Shah Rukh Khan was the one to have resurrected him with his sequel.

The actor's version of 'Don', showcased in the 2006-released Farhan Akhtar directorial venture, wasn't just critically appreciated, but was also a major commercial success resulting into another sequel later in 2011 - which became the fourth highest grosser of that year.

After a gap of nearly 6 years, Khan is set to step-in the shoes of the infamous fictional character once again.

The news was confirmed by the franchise producer, Ritesh Sidhwani, who stated that the movie is in the initial 'idea stage' as of now, as the script and screenplay is getting finalized.

"It will happen sooner than you know as we have started working on the script and the story," Sidhwani said. "I think we need to crack the story as the responsibility is more (to get it right for the third part). With the next film in Don franchise, we won’t take that much time, we will make it fast."

Earlier speculations also revolved around Priyanka Chopra being replaced with Deepika Padukone for the movie's third installment, but Sidhwani insists it would be too early to decide on that.

“We have not decided what we are going to do with it. Right now the film is in idea stage, it needs to come out in the form of story and screenplay. So it is too early to say anything”.

With the kind of numbers Salman Khan's "Tiger Zinda Hai" has churned-in within its opening weekend, it comes as no surprise that SRK too wants to invest on an action-thriller once again.

Considering the success of the previous two installment, this is something we'd really be looking forward to!
