As everyone pondered over the silence of Bollywood's A-listers, amidst the growing controversies surrounding the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati', actresses like Kangana Ranaut and Katrina Kaif are standing up in solidarity with the troubled historical drama.

After several extremist groups, particularly the Karni Sena - threatened to chop-off various body parts of the movie's lead actress - Deepika Padukone, not only did the Mumbai police had to increase her security but the actress herself expressed her fear of the growing violent-inciting threats.

The list of B-town biggies, who have decided to join the fight with Deepika, include names like - Kangana Ranaut, Shabana Azmi, Katrina Kaif and Jaya Bachchan.

In protest of the violent route taken by the Raput Karni Sena, the group of actresses have decided to officially pen down a letter to the government - seeking artistic liberty and urging them to take a firm stance towards safeguarding and protecting Padukone.

A source told DNA, that several other people have also been approached to put their signatures on the letter, so the same could be forwarded to government officials.

The movie, which was scheduled to release on December 1st, has now been postponed without any confirmation on a future date. Considering the massive protests taking place across nation and the possibilities of a law-and-order situation, it is unlikely the movie will see the light of the day anytime soon.

Great to see artists coming together to stand in support of what is clearly, RIGHT.
