Aishwarya Rai receives honorary "Ladies Award" from the President. See pics.

Aishwarya Rai has been honored by the Ministry of Women And Child development of Government of India for her accomplishments as a global star.

The 'Devdas' actress received the coveted 'First Ladies Award' which was presented to her by none other than the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Attending the ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Aish was seen draped in a Sabyasachi sari and looked ravishing as usual.







The actress has worked in approx. 47 movies in various languages in the span of her 20+ year career and has represented India at the Cannes film festival every year since 2002. She also became the first Indian actress to act as a jury member during her second stint at the festival in 2003.

The WACD ministry honored a total of 112 women who not only achieved significant milestones in their respective fields, but were also the 'first ones' to do it.

Aishwarya, in that regard, was honored for being the first Indian jury member at the Cannes film festival nearly 15 years ago.
