Watch: First teaser of Whitney Houston’s official documentary from Oscar winning filmmaker, Kevin MacDonald

The highly anticipated first ever official documentary on the life and legacy of Pop legend Whitney Houston is one project we’re all looking forward to. Sanctioned by the singer’s family and estate, the upcoming tell-all, simply entitled ‘Whitney’ promises to explore various unknown personal and professional grey areas of the singer’s enduring life and legacy. After much-wait, the first official teaser of the Kevin MacDonald directorial has been released and it already boasts of some never-seen-before shots. Although the teaser is brief, it does indicate that the makers had indefinite access to archival footage, due to the official sanction of the estate on the project.

With various previously unseen clippings projected over an a capella of “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, the short teaser ends with Whitney’s voice stating – “People think it is so damn easy….but it is not.”

Intriguing enough to make us look foward to a full-length trailer.

MacDonald, who’s an Academy award winning film-maker, has been known for his documentary features – like ‘One Day In September’ – which won him an Oscar in the year 2000 and ‘Marley’ – another ‘official’ documentary based on the life of legendary Reggae singer, Bob Marley.

MacDonald also directed the critically lauded Forest Whitaker project – ‘The Last King Of Scotland.’

Here’s to hoping there will be a full-fledged soundtrack to go along with the release.
