Watch: Couple’s Scary Trapeze act on America’s Got Talent ends with Shock And Screams

With the ever-increasing level of talent and shock-value on the countless reality-TV shows playing out currently, many contestants and participants constantly strive to do something out of the box to make their act stand out, even it it requires for them to put their own safety at stake.

The current season of America’s Got Talent is no exception to that.

Tyce Nielsen and Mary Wolfe-Nielsen, a stunt-performing married couple recently performed a fiery (quite literally) trapeze act – which managed to grab all four of the judges on the edge of their seats. While most were clutching their eyes and covering their faces due to do scary-elements of the aerial act, to give it more of a thrill, Tyce used a blindfold while performing one of the final stunts while still hanging upside down from the bar.

But just when they were about to finish the actor, Mary somehow slipped from the hands of her husband, and landed head-first on the ground, much to everyone’s shock and horror.

Fortunately, there was no serious injury and Mary soon got up with a smile on the face as they concluded the act.

Nevertheless, the show was spectacular and brave enough for entire auditorium including the judges to give them a standing ovation and applaud them for it.

“This isn’t ‘America’s Got Perfection,’ it’s called, ‘America’s Got Talent,'” judge Ken Jeong said. “It’s OK, it’s OK.”

“I don’t think there’s ever been a singer on any of our competitions who’s been note-perfect. It still doesn’t make them not amazing. It makes them human,” Simon Cowell told the duo, as he joked: “The consequences on this are slightly worse than slightly falling off key, where you nearly broke your neck.”

Watch their nerve-wrecking performance from the episode below:

You know, it isn’t easy pulling of a Trapeze act and the just witnessing the sight of people hanging off a bar attached to two ropes, without even a safety harness – is scary enough. But to see the possibilities of where things could have headed if the fall in an act of this nature would have been worse than it was, sort of opens your eyes to how much these artists risk to put together a show.

Kudos to Tyce and Mary for putting together one hell of a show!
