Shade Queen: Julia Roberts Claps Back at Comment Calling her Nail Paint ‘Ugly’

Julia Roberts basically never runs of out of one-liners especially when it involves going out of her way to put a hater in their place.

The actress was recently put in comparison to Joan Crawford by a fashion-based account on Instagram, putting their somewhat similar black outfits opposite each other for a ‘who wore it better’ comparison.

Julia’s picture was taken from her recent appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival, when she stepped out at the red-carpet for the premiere of ‘Ben is Black.’

Who wore it better! I always like to find the glamour of classic Hollywood when I can. Over the weekend Julia Roberts looked stunning in this gorgeous full length gown designed by Dsquared2 and in a little way has brought back the shoulder pad to the red carpet at the Toronto film festival. I love it. Full length stylish classic elegance. 👌❤️#hollywood #hollywoodcostume #hollywoodglamour #hollywoodcostumes #costume #costumedesign #classichollywood #film #fashion #filmcostume #fashioninfilm #style #vogue #vintage #military #joancrawford #gay #instagay #instalike #brisbane #design #designers #adrian #mgm #juliaroberts #prettywoman #toronto #canada #gown #gowns

Like ‘most things online’ – a comment on the comparison-drawing picture, didn’t just pick a side but also had a little something to say about the August, Osage County actress’ nail-color shade.

“Joan Crawford looks way better in my opinion, more classic and refined and Julia is wearing ugly black nail polish!” – the comment read.

And much to everyone’s and perhaps her own surprise, Julia pulled a ‘Notting Hill’ on the person as she gave the following sassy reply:

“@anniemagic11 It is in fact a navy polish with garnets crystals as a grounding accent. In case you would like to edit your comment from ‘ugly black nail polish’ to ugly navy polish with Garnet crystals. Just sayin’.”

Whew! Julia was apparently in her ‘Anna Scott’ element as she wrote that!
