The 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards concluded with a lot of glitz, glamour and yes – some music too.
This year’s ceremony was held at the Bilbao Exhibition Center in Spain and saw a variety of performers taking-up the stage, which included the likes of Nicki Minaj, Little Mix, David Guetta, Panic! at the Disco and of coarse, Janet Jackson – to name a few.
Granted the EMA’s are mostly given based on popular opinions, and are decided based on public voting instead of any ‘jury or a panel’, it is still one of the most coveted forms of international recognition.
This year’s biggest winner, quite surprisingly turned out to be – Camila Cabello, who took home a total of 4 trophies, including the night’s biggest – ‘Best Artist’ award. But considering Havana’s success on international markets, outside of the US and UK, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise after all.
Jackson was honored with the year’s ‘Global Icon’ award, while Cardi B took home a trophy for ‘Best New’ [artist].
