Gladys Knight is still having a hard time dealing with the passing of Whitney Houston. The legendary diva, who recently stepped-out to mourn the passing of another soul legend Aretha Franklin, revealed how the untimely death of Whitney Houston in 2012 – as an indirect result of her long-time drug-usage, affected her deeply.

Speaking on the sensitive subject on BBC Radio 2’s show ‘Mica Meets Gladys Knight’, Knight sang high praises of Houston’s glorious talent. “To be very honest with you, I had not heard a talent like that. I mean, oh my God, what an awesome gift she had.”

She then states how her gigantic level of talent ‘attracted the devil’, as she continued with her statement:

“And because she was so gifted Satan was working her big time.”

Gladys further speaks how greatly Whitney’s passing affected her, mainly because of the nature and timing of her demise.

“It was just little Whitney you know? Little Whitney – what are you doing? I didn’t know she was in that deep and that one really got me. That one really, really got me.”

“She was my girl. She was beautiful, she was talented. I had people in my family who had gone that way, so it hurt me more to see.” – she further added.

It has been over 6 years since Whitney’s shocking death in the year 2012, but it still manages to move music lovers and her industry-peers. Its certainly hard to fathom how a talent and a star as bright as her, ended up with such tragic cicumstances and passed away much too soon.
