Whitney Houston is one of the few names in music whose commercial achievements have had an equally unprecedented impact as her artistic ones. The late diva held numerous chart and music records, including her feat of being the only artist with 7 consecutive #1 singles and being the most awarded female artist in history, as cited by the Guinness Book of world records.
The ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer was also the most awarded female act in American Music Award history. A record that has now been broken by Taylor Swift in last night’s airing of the show.
Swift, who’s pace in the music history is speeding at an astonishing high rate – whether it is her record sales or her award-counts, added four more AMA trophies to her tally of 19, surpassing Houston’s long-held benchmark of 22 awards.
Is it cool that she said all that? Of course it is. @taylorswift13 accepts the award for #AMAs Artist of the Year! 🎉 #TaylorSwiftAMAs pic.twitter.com/EmTzjlB8uH

The ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ hitmaker is now close to Michael Jackson’s total tally, who currently holds the overall record with 24 awards.
