Ashanti’s forthcoming concert for Stony Brook University’s ‘Back to the Brook’ event had to be cancelled after having sold only 24 tickets.
The Grammy winning singer was targeting an audience comprising of the 2,500 students of SBU – but failed to attract enough attendees, leading the school to cancel the event from their end.
It was only a while ago, the show’s opening act – Teyana Taylor, pulled out of it at the last moment, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances, ‘ but for Ashanti could make a similar move, the school came out with their own statement.
SBU issued a formal communication to all of it’s students, announcing the cancellation of the show, also highlighting the number of tickets it sold.
