Watch: ‘Amazing Grace’ Doc Trailer Gives Behind-The-Scenes Look At Aretha Franklin’s Iconic Gospel Album

Aretha Franklin’s 1972-released gospel album, Amazing Grace, was definitely one of the career-highlights of the award winning songstress.

Displaying the legendary vocalist’s talent in its most raw form, the album garnered immense critical acclaim and won a Grammy award for Best Soul Gospel Performance.

More interestingly, the entire set was recorded Live at the New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles during January 1972, but the complete footage for the same was never made available, until now.

A forthcoming documentary from Alan Elliott and Sydney Pollack, would now unwrap the iconic moment in music history, that helped cement Franklin’s legacy as one of the greatest voices in Soul music.

The unearthing of the classic footage is certainly going to be yet another grand moment in music, and in Franklin’s enduring legacy.

Check out the spine-tingling trailer, giving a glimpse of her infamous recording of ‘Amazing Grace’, below:

‘Amazing Grace’ comes out in theaters on April 5.
