John Heard – best known for his role in the Holiday family entertainer, Home Alone, has died in Palo Alto, California.
Heard was popular for playing the role of the father in the Home Alone series, but also prominently featured in several other 80’s and 90’s family classics, playing similar fatherly roles.
John was also featured on The Sopranos, for which he won an Emmy award and also starred in the Martin Scorsese directed, 1985 flick – After Hours. He also featured on several other movies like, ‘Big’, ‘The Pelican Brief’, ‘Beaches’ – to name a few.
Heard, was found dead in a hotel in Palo Alto, by one of the hotel service staffs, who called 911 to report the medical emergency. However, when the officials arrived, John had already passed away.
The cause of death is not confirmed yet, and is under investigation by Coroner – but it has been informed by his representative that the actor was recovering from a minor back injury for the past couple of months.
John was 72.
