Veteran Actor Vinod Khanna has passed Away. He was 70.

After a long battle with cancer, actor Vinod Khanna has succumbed to the illness and died earlier on Thursday morning.

The 70 year old veteran actor's illness came in the limelight when his images circulated on the social media, in which he appeared frail and very weak.

Born on 6th October 1946, in Peshawar Vinod Khanna made his debut in movies in the year 1968 and came to prominence in the year 1971 with movies like  'Mere Apne' and 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh'.
He won a 'Best Supporting Actor' Filmfare award in the year 1975, for his role in 'Haath Ki Safai' and was honored with a Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 1999.

At the very peak of his career in the year 1982, Vinod Khanna left the film-industry and went on a five year hiatus to follow his spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh. His second innings into movies was also marked by a string of super hit flicks in the late 80's and 90's

The legendary actor worked in over 100 films in his career, including superhits like "Achanak", "Insaaf" and "Amar, Akbar, Anthony" and was one of the greatest superstars of his era.
