Baahubali 2 becomes the highest grossing Indian movie ever. Beats Aamir Khan's PK.

Within a week of its release Baahubali has done the unimaginable. The SS Rajamouli directed magnum opus has grossed over 900 crores at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest grossing Indian movie of all time.

People did expect the movie to do wonders upon it's release, but for it to achieve that kind of success in merely seven days is beyond astonishing. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion beat the previous record-holder, PK, which was atop the list of the highest grossing Indian films for more than 3 years, with a total lifetime gross of 792 crores.

The Prabhas and Rana Dagubatti starrer has gone pass the 900 crore mark in seven days, 5 out of which, were non-holidays. The movie is expected to cross greater horizons on the 6th and 7th of May, as its the second only weekend since it's record-chattering opening last Friday.

This would also make the epic-saga the first Indian movie in history to cross the 1000-crore mark, but going by the pace with which it is running, the movie might be aiming for greater targets than that.

Baahubali 2 was probably the most anticipated sequel in Indian movie history, with the massive buzz generated following the success of the first sequel and the questions it left unanswered in the story.

The first installment of the movie, Baahubali: The Beginning, itself was a record-breaker of sorts. Released in 2015, the first part of the series grossed a whopping 650 crores at the box office and presently sits at #4 among the 'All Time Top Grossers.'
