Baahubali 2 creates history: Becomes first Indian movie to cross the 1000 crores mark

Baahubali 2 has been setting benchmarks since it's highly anticipated release almost 10 days ago. In a short span of time, the SS Rajamouli directed magnum-opus has not only crossed PK to become the highest grossing movie of Indian cinema, but with the latest numbers it has also become the first Indian movie ever to touch the milestone of 1000 crores in Worldwide Box Office collections.

The mega budget masterpiece by Rajamouli has collected over 800 crores in the domestic box office alone and over 200 crores in international markets. Released across a whopping number of 8000+ screen in India, the Prabhas and Rana Dagubatti starrer has emerged as the crowning winner of Indian box office. The movie broke all records with the first weekend collection itself crossing Rs 300 crore, which is greater than the lifetime gross of many Bollywood blockbusters.

Overwhelmed by the film's massive reception, the movie's leading star Prabhas took to Facebook to thank his fans:

"To All My Fans , a big hug to each one of you for all the love that you'll have showered on me. I have tried my best to go through a lot of the efforts that you all have put to express your affection for me from different parts of India and even overseas. I am truly overwhelmed with everything. The journey of Baahubali has been a long one but among the few things that I will take away from this, is all of you. Lots of love back to you all. A big thank you to SS Rajamouli sir for believing in me to carry his huge vision to the masses, giving me a once-in-a-lifetime character of Baahubali and making the entire journey so special."

With this being only the second weekend of the movie's run at the box office, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, is set to achieve even greater targets ahead.
