Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut faced severe injury while performing a stunt during the shooting of Manikarnika in Hyderabad.

The fight sequence between Ranaut and her co-star, Nihar Pandya, featured the two fight it out with swords. But it all went wrong, when the national award winning actress forgot to crouch during a blow given by Pandya, which resulted into her being hit with the sword right between her eyes, causing a severe cut.

NDTV reports the actress telling how the situation went dramatic when her face started covering in blood during the intense scene. "I am a bit embarrassed to be thrilled to have a battle scar on my face," the 30 year old actress said. "Also, people from my team have been telling me that it's like that Peshwa teeka that Manikarnika wore. It's a bit dramatic but I am excited that my face was covered in blood and I got a genuine and authentic glimpse of the Queen's life."

Manikarnika is Kangana's ambitious upcoming project, which is based on the life and death of Queen Laxmibai of Jhansi and is being directed by filmmaker Krish (Gabbar Is Back).

The projects producer Kamal Jain talked about the incident with Mid-day, which resulted into the actress getting 15 stiches on her forehead. "Kangana had to duck when Nihar (her co-star Nihar Pandya) attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar's sword hit her forehead instead," Jain told mid-day. "It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him."

The powerhouse performer has involved Hollywood stunt choreographer Nick Powell for directing the action-sequences of the epic saga. Powell is known for his work in movies like X-men: The Last Stand, The Last Samurai and The Bourne Identity.

Here's wishing the Queen of Bollywood a speedy recovery.

Manikarnika is one epic movie we're looking forward to the most.
