Cricket ace Virat Kohli shared a disturbing video from unidentified sources on his Instagram account, showing a young and innocent girl being screamed at and slapped while being taught maths.

The video, which has now gone viral - being shared by everyone online, shows a teary-eyed and visibly traumatized young girl, learning to recite her '1, 2, 3's' as a woman, said to be either her mother or teacher, screams at her to say it rightly.

The shaken child is so scared by the constant screaming that she joins her hands and pleads for her to 'teach her with love' stating that her 'ears are hurting.'

As the child sobs and makes a few mistakes again, the video ends with the woman slapping her.

"The fact that the pain and anger of the child is ignored and ones own ego to make the child learn is so massive that compassion has totally gone out of the window," Kohli wrote on his Instagram post. "This is shocking and saddening to another dimension. A child can never learn if intimidated. This is hurtful."

The video has received major backlash since being posted for the woman's harsh ways of teaching the child. Actors Arjun Rampul and Dia Mirza also left a response on Kohli's post, expressing their anger.
