Gautam Gambhir pledges to support education of Martyred police officer's daughter

Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has come forward to provide financial aid to the daughter of Kashmir's martyred police officer, Abdul Rashid.

In a tweeter post Gambhir addressed young Zohra, stating that though he may not be able to bring his father back to life, he will support her dreams of educating herself.

Rashid - an assistant sub inspector in Jammu and Kashmir, was killed on duty last month.

Zohra's photographs of weeping uncontrollably at her father's funeral recently went viral on social media, and broke millions of hearts across country, including that of deputy inspector general of South Kashmir police as he wrote, "your tears have shaken many hearts."

The 35 year old cricketer also took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce he will be supporting the brave-heart's daughter for her complete education.

"Zohra,I can't put u 2 sleep wid a lullaby but I'll help u 2 wake up 2 live ur dreams. Will support ur education 4 lifetime," he wrote.

"Zohra,plz don't let those tears fall as i doubt even Mother Earth can take d weight of ur pain. Salutes to ur martyred dad ASI,Abdul Rashid," the cricketer wrote on another tweet.
