This Pune woman just skydived from 13,000 ft while wearing a saree to celebrate Women's Day

Your outfit and choice of attire shouldn't decide your capabilities and willingness to do something out of the box.

And although most people have the tendency to judge a book by its cover, it may not necessarily depict a true picture of the potential that lies underneath the layers of clothing.

Putting a similar notion to the backpocket, Shital-Rane Mahajan - an adventure loving sportsperson from Pune took a plunge from a height of 13,000 ft in the sport of skydiving from a famous tourist spot in Pattaya, Thailand - and guess what, she did the entire routine while wearing a darn saree!

It isn't the first time Shital has taken her adventerous spirit to such extrems. You may not have already heard the name, but Shital already holds 18 national and 6 international skydiving records and has also been honored with a Padma Shri by the government of India for her several feats in the field of extreme adventure sports.

But it is the first time the 35 year old mother gave a twist to her diving routine, by doing the whole thing in a Nauvari saree and the entire stint has been captured on video.

Watch it here:

While most people wouldn't dare skydive covered in professional clothing, this woman did the whole thing while wearing an 8 yard Saree. But Shital isn't new to the unorthodox sport. This was actually her 704th jump. Yes. You read that right! Seven frigging hundred fourth jump!

“I wanted to do something different with International Women’s Day coming up next month, so I decided on wearing the Maharashtrian ‘Nav-wari sari’ for my skydives,” Shital told NDTV during a conversation.

“First, to drape the ‘Nav-wari sari’ properly, plus to wear the parachutes on it, the safety gear and communication equipment, helmet, goggles, shoes, etc, add on to and make it all quite a challenge. I wanted to prove that Indian women can not only carry the sari graciously in their routine lives but can also use it for high adventure like skydiving.”

Watch her so casually speak of something, the mere view of which, takes our breath away:

Shital-Rane Mahajan is one of the rare few whose actions speak way louder than words!
