The untimely death of Bollywood's beloved queen, Sridevi has left quite a hollow in the industry - which has since been mourning the loss of one of its leading superstars.

The actress, along with her husband, was off to Dubai to participate in a family wedding - when news of her sudden death shook up the entire nation.

Last seen in the critically acclaimed thriller-drama, 'Mom' - Sridevi was at the brink of her second innings as a lead star of Bollywood, and was to continue her streak of success with another project to be produced by Karan Johar.

The upcoming venture, entitled 'Shiddat', hadn't hit the shooting-floor yet, so shortly after the actress' demise, it was being speculated that the project might get shelved now. However recent reports on the subject have confirmed that the filmmaker has now decided to call Madhuri Dixit to fill in the shoes left vacant by the 'Hawaa Hawaaii' actress.

According to sources, KJo considers this "replacement" as a perfect tribute to the late star - considering their professional closeness and the similarities in their quality of work.

KJo's team is now said to be in full-swing to get Madhuri in the project - which is also said to star Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

As the pressure of everyone looking at Madhuri's role with microscropic details and the possibilities of wild comparisons being drawn looms over the project - will Madhuri dare take up the role?

We hope so, as this would certainly be the best way to pay tribute to the late superstar.

The sad thing is - what was meant to be another glorious addition to her subtly remarkable second innings as a motion picture actress, will now be looked with a melancholy assessment of how things could have turned out...
