Unexpected: Baaghi 2 becomes the biggest opener of 2018. Breaks Padmaavat's record

Critics might have a mouthful to say about Tiger Shroff's latest action-packed flick, 'Baaghi 2' - but the audiences are clearly loving it.

The Ahmed Khan directed sequel to the 2016-released 'Baaghi', has surpassed everyone's expectations with its opening weekend collections - especially considering the string of box office flops Tiger Shroff had consistently delivered, which sort of made people lose faith in his future in Bollywood.

Want to know how well the movie has fared at the box office?

With an opening day collection of Rs 25.10 crore - 'Baaghi 2' has surpassed the first day collections of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer, Padmaavat, to become the biggest opener of 2018.

Now that's quite a reach, considering the negative reviews the movie received over the weekend.

The movie's first-day stats were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, which showed how greatly it performed as compared to other 'big openers' of 2018 - like 'Raid', 'Padman', and 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.'

Tiger had previously spoken about the amount of hard-work he put while making the movie, which made it hard for people to imagine where his career might head if the movie, like his previous releases, turns out to be a box-office dud.

He can certainly take a big sigh of relief now, because 'Baaghi 2' is going to show no signs of stopping during its first weekend.
