Sridevi wins 'Best Actress' trophy at the National Film awards for her performance in 'Mom'

It is bittersweet day for all Sridevi fans as the actress has been awarded at the 2018 Nstional Film Awards for her last on-screen performnace in the movie, 'Mom.'

The celebrated actress who passed away at the age of 54 in February, 2018 has been announced as this year's recipient of the 'Best Actress' award at the 65th annual National Award.

The committee headed by filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor announced the complete list of winners today, which also included a special posthumous merit award for actor Vinod Khanna.

Rajkumar Rao's critically acclaimed socially-conscious drama, 'Newton' bagged the award for 'Best Hindi Film', while Riddhi Sen won the 'Best Actor' award for Bengoli film, 'Nagarkirtan.'.



Vinod Khanna, who passed away in April 2017 after a long battle with bladder cancer was honored with 'Dada Saheb Phalke Award.'





Although Sridevi is no longer around to witness the recognition being bestowed upon her, the win seems like a perfect homage to one of the most cherished female superstars of mainstream cinema.
