There have been several occasions when a number of singers from the era gone-by have complained about their classic tunes being sexualized in the form of 'remixes.'

Pop Queen Asha Bhosle even knocked at a court's door to protest against the usage of one of her old classics in a sultry video of a remixed version of the same.

Giving another meaning to one such classic sung by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, Karan Johar has used a few chants from the title track of 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' in the controversial 'orgasm scene' from his online flick - 'Lust Stories' featuring actress Kiara Advani, and the singer's family is apparently not happy about it.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, a member of the family was quoted telling:

“We wonder why he needed to use a Bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Asia to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song.”

The close family member further added:

“Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi's immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now”.

There is no doubt about the fact that Lata Mangeshkar remains the most respected Indian vocalist of the past 100 years - so a disagreement of this level with her family, might bring KJo in the bad light.

Wonder what he has to say about it all.
