The fact that Salman Khan is the most reliable box-office star, who manages to pull the biggest volume of crowd irrespective of the content of his movies - is a well known fact, but it now also seems that the star is ready to expand his horizons beyond the realm of acting.

Salman, who's presently out and about, promoting his much-talked-about upcoming action-thriller - 'Race 3', recently expressed his plan to expand his reach to not only distributing his films himself but also starting up his own chain of theaters.

A plan which is likely in its initial stage right now - Salman wishes to get into the business of running theater-chains, to provide the masses with a cheaper alternative to high-end multiplexes of big cities. According to the reports doing the rounds online, the chain would most likely be called - 'Salman Talkies.'

His theaters will also provide free tickets to children from underprivileged backgrounds.

The sole aim is to make watching movies in the theaters affordable for everyone and while the actor is busy with the promotion of Race 3, the construction of his first theater has started in the outskirts of Mumbai, according to sources and the same should be completed by the release of the flick in Eid.

"Ticket rates should be brought down to Rs 200-250 for weekends and Rs 120-150 for weekdays, the way it is for regional films. With Hindi films, the numbers are higher but we need the footfalls too," the actor was quoted telling Mumbai Mirror.

Now that's what you call being a total boss of your own work!

A month ago director and producer Satish Kaushik also launched his own theaters and the aim was same - to provide entertainment to those people who cannot afford to go to expensive multiplexes.

Will this serve as a game-changer in the movie biz?

We'll find out soon!
