Watch: Joaquin Phoenix Revives the ‘Joker’ In Intense First Trailer Of The Movie!

Ever since Heath Leather created his iconic version of ‘The Joker’ in 2008’s The Dark Knight, it has become virtually impossible to imagine anyone else pulling off that role to such finesse.

The late actor’s definitive portrayal of Batman’s biggest nemesis, earned him his first and only Oscar for ‘Best Supporting Actor’, months after he was found dead in his apartment in late January 2008.

The qualms also clouded over three-time Academy award nominated Joaquin Phoenix, who took-up the role detailing the birth of the DC comics super-villain, like it hasn’t been done before so far.

In the newly unveiled first trailer for the upcoming Warner Bros. flick ‘Joker’, Phoenix has yet again proven his potential to pull of a character that has already been immortalized in present-day popular culture by Ledger.

Clearing the doubts Heath’s cult following had over Joaquin’s take on the character, the dark and super-intense first-trailer depicts the transition of a ‘down on luck’ comedic clown to a resentful, petrifying being coming in terms with his mental illnesses.

Going by the first look, Joaquin Phoenix seems to be killing it!
