TV One to Create New Biopic on Whitney Houston's Daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown

The channels are not leaving any opportunity to cash-in on the name of the legendary Whitney Houston, it seems. After Lifetime's scandalous supposed-biopic 'Whitney' by Angela Bassett, which basically just portrayed Houston as the one who had all the issues, there seems to be another biopic being made on the short life of her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown who passed away in 2015 under similar circumstances as that of her superstar mother.

The short-lived tragic tale of Bobbi Kristina is being recreated on screen by TV One, who in an announcement were quoted telling the reporters that the film would offer an 'intimate look at the highs and lows of parental, familial and romantic love complicated by fame through the eyes of a sensitive, vulnerable young woman.'

The network representative further added, 'Bobbi Kristina’s high-profile life- and untimely death - may have been shrouded in mystery, but this film will reveal her humor, quirks, deepest fears and longings,' the network explained, adding: 'This film explores her fight to be seen, heard, loved and to survive.'

Bobbi Kristina Brown was found face-down at her bathtub in July 2015 causing severe damage to her brain - after which she had to be put in a medically-induced coma and died in hospice care after nearly 6 months, at the tender age of 22. The strange circumstances of her death raised a lot of questions among people, as speculations circulated around foulplay being involved.

The biggest suspicion was put on her boyfriend Nick Gordan, who was the first one to find her in the bathtub before he called for help. Bobbi's estate also filed a criminal lawsuit of $36 million on Gordan, however' he's not been criminally charged for the instance as an investigation is still under-way.

The picture released by the network shows an attempt to recreate the look of the Houston family as realistically as possible. Infact at first glance you might confuse it as an original picture of the superstar and her family. Demetria McKinney plays Whitney Houston, while Hassan Johnson plays Bobby Brown and Joy Rovaris plays Bobbi.

It does make you wonder, Why? Bobbi Kristina didn't really have a story of her own yet apart from being the daughter of Whitney Houston, as she was just starting to build her own life, and passed away at an early age. Is the network really trying to tell her story for real or could this be another attempt to take a dig at Houston's turmoil?

You be the judge.
