Patti LaBelle who celebrated her 73rd birthday this past Wednesday, spent it doing what she's best known for - putting those out-of-the-world chops to work.
Videos shared by Jennifer Hudson on her Instagram page, gives us a glimpse of Miss LaBelle's birthday bash on the 24th of May - as the diva surrounded by her close family and friends, celebrated turning 73.
With Jennifer and Patti being in the room, there was bound to be some serious singing to be involved, no matter what the occasion. But the two divas were not the only one who belted it out for Patti's special day - James Wright Chanel, who received overnight fame on internet, after his hilarious review of Miss LaBelle's potato pies last year was also invited to the celebration and joined the duo in singing songs like 'I Believe I Can Fly' and 'You Are My Friend'. Wright also sang a special 'Happy Birthday' to the diva and Hudson sang an impromptu snippet of 'Jesus Promised Me Home' after Patti requested her to sing sing a little something for her.

Patti's first studio album in over 10 years entitled, 'Bel Hommage' was released earlier on the 5th of May and showcases the diva putting her glorious set of pipes to work while experimenting with Jazz music like she's never done before.
