Mariah Carey’s 2008 released seventh studio album, ‘E=MC²’, briefly managed to stay atop the US Itunes chart earlier this week.
12 years after it’s release, the platinum selling album – which largely relied on the formula and sound curated with her ‘Emancipation Of Mimi’ album, saw itself at the #1 spot on US Itunes.
With a great marketing team behind her and prices of the LP cut-down during nationwide quarantine and lockdown, the album seems to be getting another lease of life – largely thanks to her devout fan base. Count on the lambs (as her fans are fondly called) to get the job done, as they also managed to make her Holiday classic, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ a Billboard #1 hit, 16 years after it’s release.
The album was also helped by the Twitter trend – #JusticeForEMC2, spearheaded by MC herself along with her fans. A pattern the songstress has been using to bring new life to her past recordings, that didn’t do that well during the time of their release.
So the achievement, certainly didn’t go unnoticed by Queen MC herself:
#JusticeForEMC2!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩 So OVERWHELMED by this moment! Thank you #lambily for always lifting my spirits and giving me life.. Love you forever💖🐑🥳🐑 https://t.co/Z61NBwk28d
