Bruno Mars Tops the Billboard Hot 100 charts with ‘That’s What I Like’

Almost three months after it’s release Bruno Mars’ latest single ‘That’s What I Like’ has finally topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts, becoming the singer’s 7th #1 single in the US.
Released on January 30, 2017 as the second single from Bruno’s third studio album 24K Magic, ‘That’s What I Like’ started off slow on the charts making a debut at #79, and slowly started catching-up after Mars’ outstanding performance of the song at the Grammy’s and the BRIT awards followed by the premier of it’s official music video on the 1st of March. The song finally tops the charts in it’s fifteenth week of release. With a total of seven #1 singles in the US, the track now puts Bruno Mars behind Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder among males for most number #1’s on the Billboard Hot 100. That’s quite a feat, considering it’s only his third studio album. He also now ties with Eminem, as the second only male artist to have at least one #1 song for three consecutive albums

Bruno’s last #1 on the Pop charts was his collaboration with Mark Ronson, in the 2014 chart-smasher, ‘Uptown Funk’, which topped the Billboard charts for a whopping 14 weeks, entering the elite “14-week-club” which includes classics like ‘I Will Always Love You’ by Whitney Houston and ‘Candle In The Wind’ by Elton John.

Bruno’s last released single was the lead track from the 24K Magic album, which peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts and has gone on to sell over 1.2 million copies in the United States alone.

Co-written by Mars himself and composed by Shampoo Press & Curl and The Stereotypes, ‘That’s What I Like’ is infectiously catchy and carries Bruno’s happy-go-lucky charm and a warm showcase of his chops. The single is expected to have a steady stay in the Top 10 for a while now.
