The “I Got You Babe” songstress and Oscar winning actress, who celebrated her 71st birthday on Saturday looked as if she had traveled through time to accept the honor as the image of her performing ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ from the late 80’s played in your head during her performance.
At her age, Cher still has that prowess to rock the stage, to carry a fabulous trademark “Cher outfit’ and to belt out her old classics with a ringing power in her tone that still resonates with her peak years.

Cher performed a medley of ‘Believe’ and ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ and looked and sounded like a dream filled with nostalgia. But the diva was humble as she turned to accept the award and delivered her speech, “I think luck has so much to do with with my success,” she said. “I think it was mostly luck and a little bit of something thrown in.”
The superstar also thanked her mother for telling her, “you’re not going to be the smartest, you’re not going to be the prettiest, you’re not going to be the most talented, but you’re going to be special.”
