Jimmy Kimmel gives perfect response after being called ‘an out-of-touch Hollywood elitist’

When Jimmy Kimmel talked about the health conditions of his newborn son while addressing the issues with the government’s health care in an emotional speech made on his show last week, he may have already foreseen the political backlash he would receive for opposing a government policy.

On his recent episode, Kimmel took the chance to thank his fans for their outpouring messages, but also had something to say to those people who ridiculed his opinions in matters of health-care saying “he’s an out-of-touch elitist” – a phrase you might have heard being used pretty often for any celebrity who tries to form a political opinion these days.

“I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been called an out-of-touch Hollywood elitist creep this week,” said Kimmel as he started out. “When I was a kid, we had to drink powdered milk because we couldn’t afford the liquid variety. Our orange juice came frozen out of a can; it would squeeze out. My father, on the rare occasion we took a family trip, would hide our dog in the car and then smuggle it into the motel room to avoid paying a $2 pet fee. So after that, my dream was to become an out-of-touch Hollywood elitist. And I guess it came true. Anyway, I’d like to apologize for saying that children in America should have health care. That was insensitive. It was offensive, and I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me,” he concluded sarcastically.

Kimmel further talked about the complications pertaining to the health policy in America, “Yes, it is true that if you have an emergency, they will do an operation, and that’s terrific if your baby’s health problems are all solved during that one visit. the only problem is that never, ever happens. He further added, “We’ve had a dozen doctor’s appointments since our son had surgery. You have a cardiologist, a pediatrician, the surgeons, some kids need an ambulance to transport them, and that doesn’t even count parents who have to miss work for all this stuff. Those details, Newt forgot to mention. I don’t know if the double layers of Spanx are restricting the blood flow to his brain. And not only is Newt Gingrich an expert on sick babies, it turns out he also knows a thing or two about the late night comedy business.”

Jimmy concluded by thanking everyone who made contributions to the Children’s Hospital of LA after the airing of his episode last week.
