Miley Cyrus returns with first solo single in 4 years: 'Malibu'
A revamped and more pop version of Miley Cyrus is here. The 24 year old has released her first solo single in almost 4 years after her last released single, 'Adore You' from her 2013 released studio album 'Bangerz', which peaked at #21 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
The song is to be featured on her yet to be announced upcoming studio album and was officially reelased on 11 May by RCA records.
In 'Malibu' Cyrus can be heard going back to the sound she had before the release of her 2013 record, 'Bangerz', as she addresses her love for her fiancé - Liam Hemsworth.
In her interview with Billboard magazine while announcing the single earlier this month, Miley talked about what inspired her to write a song about the love of her life, “[People are] going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel’?,” she told the publication.
'Malibu' gives you a good hint of what her upcoming studio project, due to be released later this year, might sound like - as she sways with easy vocals layed on soft guitar strings - a sound quite different from her previous hits, 'We Can't Stop' and 'Wrecking Ball'
It was in October last year, Miley announced that she was engaged to actor Liam Hemsworth, the australian actor known for his roles in movies like 'The Hunger Games' series and 'Independence Day: Resurgence'.
Could Malibu give Miley another hit on the charts?
