An animated Michael Jackson special will air on CBS this Halloween

A one-hour long Halloween special featuring a tribute to the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, will be airing on CBS later this year. The animated-short film will revolve around two young characters who venture into a mysterious hotel entitled, ‘This Place Hotel’ – followed by several fantasy-driven adventures and leading up to a magical finale with an animated version of Jackson dancing to one of his classics.

Christine Baranski, Alan Cumming and George Eads will lend their voices to main characters along with Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, and Jim Parsons.

What makes the project more special (particularly after the low-budget Lifetime disaster on the late legend) is that the special has been approved and co-executed by Michael’s estate, which ensures it will be the kind of tribute his legacy deserves

Jackson’s official Facebook page also confirmed their involvement with the project in a post, stating, “There’s a new animated special in production and coming to television this fall – Michael Jackson’s Halloween. It will be broadcast on CBS in the US and there are deals with local broadcasters in other countries around the world.”

Entitled, ‘Michael Jackson’s Halloween’  – the special being directed by Mark A.Z. Dippe and produced by Daniel Chuba. John Branca and John McClain should air later in October on CBS.
