Dancing With the Stars pro’s Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy have tied the knot after being engaged for almost two years.
The couple wedded on July 8 in a fairy-tale ceremony at Oheka Castle in Long Island, New York.
In an interview with PEOPLE magazine the couple spoke of how their dream-wedding came to fruition.
“Maks has loved this place for years and I took on the suggestion and I fell in love with it immediately. I had never thought of being married in a castle, but my jaw dropped when I first saw it,” Murgatroyd told PEOPLE.
“I can’t speak for every girl, but when you first step onto that runway and see the love of your life at the end of the path waiting for you, I think that’s going to be a moment that I’ve always waited for — just to see his face. I’ve always wanted to get married — and only get married once — so this is really special moment for me,” Murgatroyd told the magazine.
Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy had been dating since 2012, and later made it official after being engaged on December 5, 2015. after the Ukrainian-American dancer proposed Murgatroyd on-stage during one of their lives shows. The two are best known for their long-term association with Dancing With The Stars, appearing on several seasons of the popular dance competition.
The couple also has a son, Shai Aleksander who was born in January 4, 2017.
