Toni Braxton is venturing into the world of acting once again – with a new upcoming Lifetime production.

As reported by Deadline, the singer is said to have signed on with the network to not only executive-produce a new made-for-television flick, but also star in the leading role.

The upcoming movie will be based on the Antoniette Tuff and Alex Tresniowski penned book, ‘Prepared for a Purpose: An Inspiring True Story of Faith, Courage and Compassion in Crisis.’

‘..Purpose’ was based on the real life story of Tuff herself, who managed to convince an enraged gunman to put down his weapon, after he had forcibly entered an elementary school building. The narrative revolves around how the struggling mother reached the point, moment by moment, and convinced the attacker to surrender before he could do any further harm and thus saving the lives of hundreds of school kids.

Toni Braxton would step in the shoes to play the real-life hero in the flick which would also co-star Yaya DaCosta – on her second lifetime project, after the Angela Bassett directed biopic on Whitney Houston.

We’re all hyped to see how Miss Braxton pulls this off..!
