This new interview with Jim Carrey is bizarre even by his own standards

Jim Carrey recently appeared at Harper Bazar’s ICON event this past Friday.

As Carrey appeared on the red carpet to have a few Q&A sessions with media, he made possibly the weirdest rant of all time – when E! News’s Catt Sadler approached him for comment.

Circling Sadler a few times, the Hollywood icon went on a lengthy rant about how the term ‘icon’ is really very meaningless.

“There’s no meaning to any of this. I wanted to find the most meaningless thing that I could come to and join, and here I am,” Carrey said to Sadler. “I mean, you gotta admit, it’s completely meaningless.”

Carrey further added, “Celebrating icons, boy, that is just the absolute lowest aiming possibility that we could come up with. It’s like, icons. Do you believe in icons? I believe in personalities. I don’t believe that you exist, but there is a wonderful fragrance in the air.”

Sadler then tried to explain Carrey that some icons really do have the power to make a different and influence people, but the ‘Liar Liar’ actor was still persistent upon literally rambling on the subject:

“I don’t believe in icons. I don’t believe in personalities. I believe that peace lies beyond personality, beyond invention in disguise, beyond the red S that you wear on your chest that makes bullets bounce off. I believe that it’s deeper than that. I believe we’re a field of energy dancing for itself,” he said.

Sadler, who was apparently stunned with how awkward the interview turned, then tried to comment on Carrey’s appearance and wardrobe, but it as yet again followed with some more rambling:

“No, I didn’t get dressed up. There is no me. There’s just things happening. And there are clusters of tetrahedrons moving around together,” he said.

“Here’s the thing, it’s not our world. That’s the key. We don’t matter. That’s the good news.”

You ok, bro?
