TV One’s upcoming biopic Bobbi Kristina Brown is now going to air at its scheduled time on the network, after a judge disapproved of Bobby Brown’s pea to put a stop on it,
The unauthorized drama, said to be based on the late daughter of pop icon Whitney Houston, irked Bobby for its alleged portrayal of him as an unloving father and abusive husband, following which he moved to court to stop the unauthorized biopic from airing.
Brown did not only want an injunction to stop the airing of the unofficial bio, but was also aiming to fetch a sum of $1 million in damages on grounds of “libel and slander.”
Dismissing Brown’s lawsuit, the judge also Manhattan federal judge also stated that the singer’s claims about the film are ‘speculative’ as he has neither seen it or read the script yet.
Not only that, the judge also disregarded the possibility of the film being ‘defamatory’ to Brown for depicting him negatively, citing instances from his own 2016-released autobiography in which he admitted to “smacking” Whitney Houston once.
