Confirmed: Beyonce to star as ‘Nala’ in The Lion King remake

After several weeks of speculations about Beyonce Knowles joining-in the cast of Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King, the superstar has officially been confirmed to deliver as the voice of ‘Nala’.

In an announcement made on Wednesday, the studio, along with Knowles, revealed the rest of the cast who will be joining the ‘Single Ladies’ songstress in this highly anticipated live-action remake of the cult tale from Disney’s land of fantasy.

Being directed by Jon Favreau (who previously directed The Jungle Book live-action remake), the movie will also feature actor Donald Glover in the lead role of Simba (Nala’s love-interest) while James Earl Jones will be once again stepping-in the shoes of Mufasa.

The 1994 released award-winning animated classic, will also feature the likes of Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver and Alfre Woodard. Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner will feature as Pumbaa and Timon respectively.

Now that the Grammy winning hitmaker has officially stepped on-board – it would be interesting to see what contribution she makes to its soundtrack.
