WATCH: Whitney Houston’s live rendition of “I Have Nothing” as featured on her new album

The first visual from Whitney Houston’s upcoming LP, ‘I Wish You Love’ has been released by her label.

The live performance of her Oscar nominated classic, ‘I Have Nothing’ hails from a private concert that took place in Brunei 1996 for Princess Rashidah, the eldest daughter of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah.

Although, some of you may have seen the concert footage on YouTube before, the same has never been released officially.

Despite this coming from an era, where Houston was edging out of her vocal prime, her tonal quality in this performance is sublimely beautiful and hauntingly soulful at the same time.

The great thing about Whitney Houston’s live performances, was that – no matter what era or vocal state they were performed in, they never sounded alike due to her mastery in vocal improvisations and lyrical interpretations.

Watch the performance below:

“I Wish You Love: More From The Bodyguard” is being released on November 17, to mark 25 years of Houston’s iconic 1992 released soundtrack to The Bodyguard.

The album features several rare, never heard before live performances and alternate takes of her classics from the studio and is available for pre-order.
