Meghan Markle Talks About Hardships of Being a New Mother Under Spotlight

The past couple of months haven’t been easy on Meghan Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex, married to English royalty – Prince Harry, stepped into motherhood when the entire world had its spotlight pointed over her.

Nobody can really be prepared for that kind of attention, especially when dealing with something like becoming a first-time mom. And the amount of the negative commentary that was drawn into her during the time, could be nerve-wrecking for anyone.

But it makes things all the more alarming, when you look back and realise how this ‘vulture culture’ contributed to Prince Diana’s demise, more than 20 years ago.

Editor Omid Scobie shared a video of Meghan speaking on the subject in a documentary and the heartwarming revelation has made hundreds of thousands rally behind her in support.

‘Thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I’m ok.’ she is quoted telling, with a vulnerable smile on her face.

Omid further adds in his video – “Sudden prominence is a very dehumanising experience. There’s a part of your life that you lose, & it later dawns on you that you’ll never get it back. The people who treat you like a human make all the difference.”

The documentary will air Sunday, October 23 on ABC.
