Beyonce Knowles is one of the most formidable forces in popular music today.

The fierce performer has established herself as one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, whose albums sell like hotcakes from the word go.

While a lot is already known about the artist, through the many tabloid pieces written about her, she has still managed to keep a lot of it under wraps – being the private person she is.

So we’re not going to include some popular titbits here like – who is Sasha Fierce, who is ‘Becky with the good hair’ or what is her height and weight. We’d expect you’d know that by now.



Attempting to unwrap some other lesser known titbits, we have collected a few interesting points that would give you a glimpse of what it means to be Beyonce Knowles in this world.

1) She is a bit fan of The Beatles and even won a school-level competition singing John Lennon’s song, ‘Imagine.’

2) She is of part Irish and French descent. It comes from her mother Tina Knowles, who has part Irish, African, Native American and French ancestry in her family tree.

3) If you think Bey left the Destiny’s Child without an adverse effects of the same on herself as it did on the other girls, you’d be wrong. The singer actually went into depression after the group broke-up. She said – “I didn’t eat. I stayed in my room. I was in a really bad place in life, going through that lonely period: ‘Who am I? Who are my friends?’ My life changed.”



4) Before Lady Gaga, it was Beyonce who was being considered for a modern remake of A Star is Born in a project which was being spear-headed by Clint Eastwood. This is one movie that has been created for the biggest female Pop stars of each era in Hollywood. From Judy Garland to Barbra Streisand – they’ve had their own versions, spanning different eras. And for the present day remake of the same, it was Knowles who was being considered for the role prior to Gaga, but she chose to opt out of it following the birth of her daughter.

 

5) Apart from stanning over modelling goddess Naomi Campbell – giving shout-outs to her in a couple of her songs (we’ll let you guess, which ones they are), she also admires the fashion and style of supermodel Kate Moss.

6) Beyonce may be a perfectionist when it comes to her work, but she is actually pretty messy when it comes to the things in her house. She revealed this herself in an interview, stating how her part of the house usually stays ‘disordered’ despite hubby Jay Z’s dismay.

7) Her favorite digit is #4. Beyonce, her husband Jay Z, her mother Tina Knowles – have all been born on the 4th of different months. Apart from that, she also tied the knot Jay on the 4th of April. No prizes for guessing, why she named her fourth album – ‘4’.

8) While Beyonce knows and priorities safeguarding her artistry and her talent and keeping her body in great shape, she doesn’t mind ‘indulging’ a bit by smoking a cigar when she wants to. Yes! Beyonce loves smoking Cigars! A Boss. Similarly her favorite ‘indulgence’ when it comes to food is an extra tomato sauce-laced Pizza, with jalapeño toppings.



9) In a countdown once appeared on Z Studios, entitled ‘Hollywood’s Ten Best’ – she was ranked #1 with the title – ‘Woman with it all’ – ahead of beauties like Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts.

10) She has a fly named after her. Researcher Bryan Lessard named a newly discovered species of housefly after the singer in 2012. He called it “Scaptia beyonceae” – and as you’d expect it, she now referred to as the diva among flies.

11) Beyonce is allergic to perfume. She may have a few launched under her own line, but she wears some of them only when they are altered to avoid any allergies on her skin. Poor Bey. Now it is your turn to name 3 perfumes by her.

12) Beyoncé’s unique name actually stems from her mother’s maiden name: Celestine Ann “Tina” Beyoncé.

13) Her favorite ice-cream is butter pecan. Cute. Her favorite food is – Southern American Soul-food, fresh fruits and vegetables and a special drink made of maple cyrup, lemon juice and water. Gold and Pink are her favorite colors.



14) We love how the DC made us love our bodies with the song ‘Bootylicious’ – and apparently the Oxford Dictionary loved it too. The song was was officially added to the dictionary after the song became a hit in 2001.

 

15) Beyonce revealed that listening to Whitney Houston singing the National Anthem in 1991, contributed to her desire to one day be able to sing like that in public. She even revealed that her favorite song to sing in the shower is Houston’s – ‘I Will Always Love You.’

 

16) Beyoncé’s bodyguard once broke her toe accidentally, by standing on it in an attempt to protect her from overzealous fans.

17) Her favorite actor is Tom Hanks.

18) She was once paid a whopping sum of £1.25 million for a five minute performance at a private New Year’s party. If that’s not enough, she was paid a whopping $4 million for performing at Indian business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani’s daughter’s pre-wedding ceremonies. That’s more than what she was paid for Coachella.

19) Bey and Jay have been together for the longest time. She hasn’t been linked-up with anyone else since she gained popularity. And the star insists that he is her second only partner in life. Beyonce had one boyfriend before that when she was just 12 or 13, and after that it was the rap mogul and no one else. Talk about commitment.



20) “Driver roll-up the partition please” – Beyonce actually sang the first few lines of the initial verse of ‘Parition’ without any preparation and without writing it down. Co-produced by the singer, along with a number of other writers – the song and its ultra-sexual lyrics made her worry what her mother might say of it when she hears it. Don’t worry Bey, you’re a ‘Grown Woman’ *wink wink* !!
