Empire State Building To Be Lit To Celebrate 25 Years of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’

We’re still more than a week away from Christmas and Mariah Carey has already earned herself a historic #1 on the Billboard charts with her holiday classic – ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You.’

And if that wasn’t enough already, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of iconic X-mas tune, the song will find its way to be displayed across the Empire State Building.

Honoring the chart-topping, best-selling tune from Carey, Empire State Realty Trust Chairman – Anthony E. Malkin announced the following:

“Mariah Carey has long been a friend of the Empire State Building, and we are excited to celebrate this special anniversary of her iconic holiday hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” with music-to-light show at the iconic Empire State Building.”

The ‘homage’ is being given by the Reality Trust in collaboration with iHeartMedia – to produce a special music-to-light show on the 19th of December.

Speaking on the grand celebration, marking the song’s 25th anniversary, Tom Poleman, CPO of iHeartMedia said the following:

“For decades, Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want For Christmas,’ has proven to be a holiday staple for iHeartRadio listeners nationwide,” said Tom Poleman, Chief Programming Officer for iHeartMedia. “What better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this iconic song than with a festive synchronized light show at New York’s most iconic building this season.”

Couldn’t be a grander salute to coincide with the song’s monumental feat on Billboard Hot 100 this week.

Mariah Carey is all-the-way winning this Christmas.
