Mariah Carey is extending her list of records on Billboard charts.
With a historic #1 achieved with her 25 year old Christmas classic – ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, MC has added another feather to her already coveted hat.
The song’s continued triumph on Billboard Hot 100 for the third consecutive week, has given Carey the first #1 of the new decade – which in turn also makes her the only artist to have at least one #1 across four different decades.
To paraphrase – ‘…Christmas’ stayed atop the charts for the third week, which will make it the first #1 of the decade going into the first week of January. MC is now the only artist in history to have #1’s in four decades – 90’s, 2000’s, 2010’s and 2020’s.
As far as MC’s legacy is concerned – this is one song that continues to keep her giving.
