Throwback: When Cheryl Cole Slammed Nicole & Pussycat Dolls: ‘They Can’t Sing’

Pussycat Dolls have always been embroiled in controversies revolving around the fact that majority of the group members are pretty much never found singing.

Most of the vocals on their studio tracks as well as their live performances are covered by the group’s lead vocalist – Nicole Scherzinger, while the rest have often been said to just serve as ‘eye candy.’

As the group is gearing for a comeback with some new music, a file footage of fellow British performer, Cheryl Cole commenting on their ‘vocal abilities’ has now been going viral again.

The video is from an interview from sometime in the mid 2000’s when Cheryl was a part of the group – ‘Girls Aloud’.

Stating how you never really get to hear anyone else in the group apart from Scherzinger, Cheryl could be heard throwing a number of back-to-back disses in the video and it is now making people wonder if it was coming from a place of jealousy – since apparently PCD found a lot more fame and success than Girls Aloud or Cheryl ever did.

“You never get a chance to hear any one else so you just assume she is [the vocal talent],” Cole says. “Apart from that girl that really annoys me that goes ‘meeehhh’ all the time. You never really hear anybody else…”

Fellow member Nicola Roberts then co-signed stating – “I’d like to hear them all sing,” to which Cheryl snarkly replied back with – “I don’t think they can, I think they are more dancers.”

She then went on to say how Nicole doesn’t have much of a chance as a solo vocalist either, since she’s no Christina Aguilera or Beyonce.

Yikes!
