After much debate about the concept of Holograms of deceased artists, the late Whitney Houston’s estate went ahead with the scheduled worldwide tour of the star anyway.
In the first few dates in the UK, from Sheffield and Liverpool, the hologram seems to have exceeded the expectations of those who attended it first hand, with an open mind.
Granted, it was never going to look like or move like a real person – since it is not a real person, and can only go as far along in ‘being Whitney’ as the technology allows it, those who just went there to enjoy the late and great diva’s music, seemed to have had a good time – going by the first online reactions.
The best thing about the whole experience can be deemed the fact that it, in fact, features some never-heard-before live outtakes from the legendary performer. And although it may not offer the spontaneity of a true-blue ‘Whitney Houston live’ experience, it offers the opportunity to hear her powerful voice in a concert-like setting once again.
The first few bootleg clippings leaked on YouTube thus far, prove just that.
