R&B Legend Deniece Williams Criticizes Mariah Carey’s Vocals: “She Has Not Taken Care Of Her Voice”

Deniece Williams, who has previously expressed her fondness for Mariah Carey, recently layed down her thoughts on what she feels about the ‘Vision Of Love’ singer’s current state of vocals.

Williams, who appeared for an online video conversations with TrueExclusives, worded her opinion on a number of vocalists from past and present and Mimi was one of them.

But apparently, the ‘Do What You Feel’ singer wasn’t happy with the state of Carey’s voice today, asserting that the singer has apparently not taken enough care her instrument during the course of time.

“She is an incredible artist, beautiful, [and] I loved her music,” Williams said. “..but I’m upset she has not taken care of her voice – her gift and instrument. I would hope that she would take more care of her instrument, her voice.”

This obviously didn’t go down well with Mariah’s fans, who presently seem to be on a rampage of attacking Williams online.

MC – on the other hand, has had a number of “very public” and broadly reported, issues with her live performances in the recent past, ranging from being accused of lip-syncing to using playback, or becoming a butt of internet jokes for live broadcast of inconsistent vocals, a la, her 2014 performance at the Rockefeller Centre.

But Carey’s yet to say anything on Deniece’s sincere advice.

Going by the mutual respect the two vocalists share for each other, we doubt she will.
