That’s quite an achievement, for an artist who came in the wake of female chart-smashers like Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston and Madonna.
But Mariah’s debut record, released in the year 1990 – proved she was here to set the charts on fire, earning no less than 4 #1’s from her first project itself.
Her longevity has since continued, with her most recent and 19th #1 coming from her all-time Christmas classic, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 2019 – nearly 25 years after it’s release.
With such a long string of hits, that have managed to still sound fresh and just as stunning as they did when they’d come out, Mariah Carey’s talent and her ability to curate hits, needs no elaboration.
