Has Nicki Minaj Brought Back Her ‘Super Bass’ Sound With New Song ‘Super Freaky Girl’?

Nicki Minaj is set for the arrival of her new album – her first in over 4 years, since her last released album, ‘Queen’ – which came out in the year – 2018.

And the leading single ‘Super Freaky Girl’, from the yet-to-be-announced LP – released just earlier this week, is already making waves.

Blasting to the top spot of iTunes charts in over 50 countries, the song is bona-fide banger with a catchy hook and lyrics.

Sampling the infectious “Super Freak” – a hit from Rick James in 1981, the new track offers ample floss to classify as a trademark Nicki-standard, in the same league of her breakthrough hit classic – ‘Super Bass’ or even another one of her memorable viral hits – ‘Anaconda’.

Granted her last album ‘Queen’ was also an embodiment of her growth as an artist, the lyrics to ‘Freaky’ yet again boast of a confident, sassy Minaj, as we know her:

“One thing about me, I’m the baddest alive
He know the prettiest bi*ch didn’t come until I arrive
I don’t let bi*ches get to me, I f*ck they man if they try
I got a princess face, a killer body, samurai mind”

So is Nicki bringing the fun and vibrant sound back with this new LP?

We’ll wait and see as new songs are unveiled from the highly-anticipated project.
