Shania’s last studio effort was ‘Up!’ which was released in the year 2002. It really has been that long since we heard the country-pop superstar on a brand new record. Despite the enormous success of ‘Up!’ – which sold over 800,000 copies in it’s first week alone, the singer-songwriter hasn’t released another album except for a ‘Greatest Hits’ released in the year 2004.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Shania’s new record will feature arrangements and melodies she has collected and stored on her recording devices over this entire interval.
The superstar made the announcement herself during her apperance on The View. The yet-to-be-named album is going to be lead by the single ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ which will hit the shelves and the airwaves in June.
Explaining the background behind the single, Twain stated, “I was at home looking out at the ocean and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ song…. You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
Shania Twain is one of world’s biggest selling artists with sales of over 85 million. She is also the only female artist in history with 3 Diamond-certified album in the United States. Twain is heavily credited for merging other music-styles with Country, particularly Pop, to establish a more mainstream sound for the genre, which has given a great platform for a range of country artists after her.
Her new album is stated for a release in September this year.
