But what has really lasted forever, when it comes to Hollywood?
Nothing, it seems.
When eight months ago Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt, it felt as Hollywood’s leading fairy-tale romance was coming to an end. But there’s more to things than ‘meets the eye.’ There always is. Was it all mush and glory?
Brad Pitt finally sat down with GQ to talk about what the family has been going through as they battle it, in and out of courts.
In an intimate tell-all to the magazine, Brad talked about how his drinking got out of hand and it became a problem later on. He did however insist, that it’s all ‘under-control’ now as he hasn’t been drinking at all for the past six months.
Brad also talked about how the proceedings are hard not just for him and wife, Angelina but also for their kids, “We’re both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, ‘No one wins in court — it’s just a matter of who gets hurt worse.’ And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you’re right and why they’re wrong, and it’s just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately my partner in this agrees. It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.”
It was reported earlier in September, 2016, that Brad had a dispute with his 15 year old son Maddox, while traveling on a plane with his family. He was alter accused of hitting them in a drunken state. The actor refused the charges and stated he only yelled at his kids, but didn’t raise his hands. Five days after the incident, Angelina filed for divorce.
“I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we’ve been able to work together to sort this out,” he told GQ.
The couple has gone through various ups and downs during their 12 year relationship, but noone might have imagined it to end in such a bitter way.
